Aniimo: New ARPG with Creature Collection Unveiled at Xbox Showcase

Authore: EmmaUpdate:Jun 20,2025

Aniimo is a brand-new creature-collecting ARPG developed by Pawprint Studios, offering players a fresh and immersive experience in a magical world known as Idyll. In Aniimo, players can collect unique creatures—also called Aniimo—and perform a magical fusion known as "Twining," allowing them to merge with and play as these creatures. Each Aniimo brings its own special abilities, which are essential for navigating the environment, solving puzzles, and uncovering hidden areas throughout the expansive world.

The game was officially unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, where it debuted with a stunning cinematic trailer that showcased its vibrant visuals and innovative gameplay mechanics. Published under the new FunPlus label Kingsglory, Aniimo promises a high-quality experience backed by strong development support.

Scheduled for release in 2026, Aniimo will feature a closed beta later this summer, giving select players early access to test the game's systems and progression. Those interested in staying updated or participating in the beta can register on the official Aniimo website.

ytAnimated Gameplay and Unique Mechanics

Central to Aniimo’s gameplay is the Twining mechanic, which allows seamless transformation between human and creature forms. This system not only enhances exploration but also adds strategic depth to combat and traversal. The trailer highlights fluid movement through dynamic environments, showcasing how each Aniimo’s unique traits contribute to different aspects of play—whether it's flight, climbing, or elemental manipulation.

While the creature-collection genre has seen many entries over recent years, Aniimo distinguishes itself with its ambitious art direction, deep integration of transformation mechanics, and strong publishing backing. With polished visuals and engaging gameplay loops, it positions itself as a promising title poised to make a mark in the ARPG space.

As we look ahead to 2026, Aniimo could very well be a strong contender for future gaming awards, including the Pocket Gamer People's Choice Awards. It will face tough competition, especially from the standout mobile titles already featured in our list of the best mobile games of 2025 (so far), but its unique concept and execution suggest it may rise to the challenge.
