All-Star Superman consistently ranks among the greatest Superman comics ever published (including IGN's prestigious Top 25 list), and now fans worldwide will experience this landmark story through a fresh medium. DC Comics and Penguin Random House are collaborating to transform All-Star Superman into an immersive full-cast audiobook production.
Meghan Fitzmartin is adapting the iconic work originally created by writer Grant Morrison and artist Frank Quitely. Notably, Quitely contributed exclusive new artwork for the audiobook's cover, showcased below:

This self-contained masterpiece presents a poignant narrative where Superman confronts his mortality after absorbing lethal solar radiation during a mission too close to the sun. The story chronicles Kal-El's journey as he reveals his identity to Lois Lane, undertakes Herculean challenges, and faces Lex Luthor in climactic confrontation.
The star-studded voice cast includes:
- Marc Thompson as Superman/Clark Kent & Zibarro
- Kristen Sieh as Lois Lane
- Christopher Smith as Lex Luthor
- Various other talented actors bringing the expansive supporting cast to life
"This audiobook adaptation reflects DC's commitment to innovative storytelling that makes our iconic characters accessible to new audiences while honoring their legacy," said Anne DePies, DC's SVP and general manager. "We're excited to reach audiobook enthusiasts and podcast listeners with authentic adaptations that preserve the essence of beloved stories."
The All-Star Superman audiobook launches June 24, 2025 – strategically timed one month before James Gunn's anticipated Superman film premiere. The story previously received an animated adaptation in 2011.
