BioWare has largely shifted focus away from Dragon Age: The Veilguard, though the remaining development team quietly added a small DLC weapons pack to the game.
The RPG's Steam page update revealing free add-on content called Rook's Weapons Appearance Offer surprised Dragon Age fans. While minor, this unexpected addition feels notable given EA's previous indication of limited future support for The Veilguard. After January's fifth patch announcement that updates would primarily address critical bugs, any new content - however small - comes as a welcome surprise.

Curiously, the Rook's Weapons Appearances bundle is exclusively available to current owners and new PC purchasers through April 8, 2025. While the bundle lacks an official description, players discovered it unlocks a set of Watchful skins accessible in their Rook's in-game quarters. The offer's availability for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions remains uncertain.
"Even if these appearances aren't the most, uh, beautiful things ever," one Steam review notes, "they do give spooky eldritch horror vibes!"
"It's cosmetic DLC, but it's essentially free DLC for a game that's practically no longer getting newer content," a Redditor commented. "I'll live with that."
AnswerSee ResultsDragon Age: The Veilguard received positive critical reception at its October launch, but EA stated the game failed to "resonate with a broad enough audience." Key team members announced their departure from BioWare in late January amid widespread staff reassignments and layoffs. EA confirmed to IGN the studio would dedicate its "full focus" to the next Mass Effect.
The game joined PlayStation Plus March 2025's lineup just four months post-launch. No further plans for The Veilguard have been disclosed.
