Nintendo is set to open its new San Francisco store today, May 15, located at 331 Powell Street in Union Square. This marks the second official Nintendo store in the United States, following the successful New York location. The New York store, previously known as the Nintendo World Store, underwent renovations and rebranding before reopening as Nintendo NY in 2016.

IGN had the opportunity to visit the new San Francisco store to explore what Nintendo has prepared for its fans. Additionally, IGN sat down with Nintendo of America's president, Doug Bowser, to discuss the strategic timing behind opening their first West Coast store.

IGN delved into various topics with Bowser, including the availability of the Switch 2 in the U.S. at launch and beyond, as well as the debated Game-Key Cards and other related matters.
