Experience Life as a Rubber Duck in Placid Plastic Duck Simulator

Turbolento Games is bringing their high-tech rubber duck simulation to Android. It’s Placid Plastic Duck Simulator, where you simply watch a plastic duck drift lazily across the surface of a pool. Originally released on Netflix last year, the game is now available as a standalone app on Android.

Placid Plastic Duck Simulator is real, not a joke

The game asks for nothing more than your presence. You arrive at a seaside pool. You float. Over time, other ducks begin to show up, each with its own distinct look and personality. It’s all about immersing yourself in the calm, literally.

You can name the ducks in the Collection screen. Their names drift above their heads like quiet thoughts in a daydream. Call it funny or ironic, but when the real-world heatwave blazes outside, Placid Plastic Duck Simulator offers the serene little escape you didn’t know you needed.

The world around you shifts gently. Daylight fades, stars emerge, the radio hums a nostalgic tune—until you turn it off to listen to the waves instead.

Morning returns, and you glide softly into a second pool. Somewhere far away, an airplane streaks through the sky. But your only task is to do nothing.

There are 50 ducks in total, many with playful or unusual designs. Some react in unexpected ways when they bump into each other or objects in the water.

You’ll occasionally unlock one of the 15 achievements simply by observing what unfolds. One moment you’re watching the sunset; the next, a UFO might appear above your pool.

With two pools to explore and a growing flock of rubber ducks that simply want to drift, Placid Plastic Duck Simulator is definitely worth a try. You can get it from the Google Play Store for $1.99. If you’d like a first look, here it is!
