Nearing Its Full Release
As shared in a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Hades 2 has been in early access for one year, starting from May 6, 2024. Supergiant Games commemorated this milestone by expressing gratitude to players for their ongoing support and confirming that the team is getting "closer to the finish line" of the full release.
The developers stated: “It's been incredibly exciting and eye-opening as we've worked to realize the potential so many of you see in our game. Thank you for all your feedback and patience as we get closer to the finish line!”
The original Hades also launched in early access and took approximately 22 months before reaching its final version. However, Supergiant aims to shorten that timeline for Hades 2, with plans to debut the full version sooner—starting with an exclusive release on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Launching Exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 at First
As revealed during one of Nintendo’s Creator’s Voice videos, Hades 2 will initially launch exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2. Considering the console’s expected release date of June 5, 2025, fans can anticipate the game arriving around that timeframe or shortly after.
This title marks Supergiant’s first-ever sequel, following up on the critically acclaimed rogue-like dungeon crawler that captured the hearts of many players. The developers noted that creating a sequel came with a mix of “fear and respect,” as they aimed to honor the legacy of the original while delivering something fresh and ambitious.
