Machinarium Free Now at Epic Games Store

A new free mobile game is now available on the Epic Games Store. This week's offering is the acclaimed title, Machinarium. It's free to claim globally from August 28th to September 4th, 2025, through the Epic Games mobile app for Android.

Machinarium is an award-winning point-and-click adventure, renowned for its beautifully hand-drawn artwork and its unique, wordless narrative. Originally released in 2009, it was developed by Amanita Design, the studio also known for Samorost, Botanicula, and Chuchel.

What is the gameplay like?

Machinarium follows the story of Josef, a small, dome-headed robot who is thrown into a scrapyard. After putting himself back together, he embarks on a journey to the titular Machinarium—a sprawling, rusty metropolis inhabited by a cast of eccentric robots.

Josef soon discovers the Black Cap Brotherhood, a gang of malicious robots scheming to cause havoc. After being falsely accused and imprisoned, his simple mission to escape evolves into a grand adventure. To save the city, rescue his girlfriend Berta, and thwart the Brotherhood's plans.

The game features a variety of brain-teasing puzzles, logic challenges, and even mini-games. Communication between characters is entirely visual, conveyed through animated thought bubbles and gestures instead of spoken dialogue.

Every scene and character is meticulously hand-drawn in 2D, creating a unique visual world. The atmosphere is enhanced by a captivating soundtrack from Floex, the composer behind Samorost 2's music.
