You and a partner take on the roles of Ally and Old Dog, a pair of detectives trapped inside a disturbing psychological experiment crafted by the Cryptic Killer—a name recurring in the developer's previous titles.
Each player views a different side of the story, and neither possesses the complete picture. Your advancement depends entirely on the clues your partner provides, just as their progress hinges on yours. At times you may find yourself deciphering codes or soldering electronic components. Other moments call for rousing a drunken character from their stupor.
The game features more than 80 puzzles in total. Expect to encounter complex locks, mysterious symbols, and scattered documents. Beyond the core mysteries, you’ll also enjoy quick diversions like dart games and match-3 puzzles.
