Sims 1 & 2 Relaunch in 25th Anniversary PC Bundle

Celebrating 25 Years of The Sims: Classic Games Return with Legacy Collections

EA and Maxis are marking The Sims franchise's 25th anniversary with an exciting revival. Both The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 have returned to PC through two Legacy Collections and a special anniversary bundle.

Relive the Classics

EA has launched The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection today. These are available individually or combined in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle for $40.

The collections include nearly all expansions and content packs - only The Sims 2 appears to be missing the IKEA Home Stuff pack from 2008. Both editions also feature new bonus content: The Sims 1 receives a Throwback Fit Kit while The Sims 2 gets a Grunge Revival Kit.

Play

This re-release ends a long drought for these classic games. The Sims 1 hasn't been commercially available since its original disc release, making it nearly impossible to play on modern systems. The Sims 2 was briefly available in 2014 as an Ultimate Collection on Origin before being discontinued. Now all four main Sims titles are digitally accessible again.

Timeless Gameplay

Our original reviews awarded The Sims 1 a 9.5/10 and The Sims 2 an 8.5/10. While later entries refined the formula, these early versions remain worthwhile for their charm, straightforward gameplay, and historical significance in the life simulation genre.

The Legacy Collections are available now on Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA app, giving new and returning players alike the chance to experience these foundational titles.
