Tony Hawk Aims for Underground Remake

Authore: SavannahUpdate:Jul 16,2025

If you've been itching for a revival of Tony Hawk's Underground, rest assured — Tony himself is also pushing for it.

"I always have aspirations," Hawk shared with ScreenRant. "It's ultimately not up to me. I’ll push as hard as I can, but I’m collaborating with a much bigger company that’s smarter than I am."

When asked whether Activision had hinted at what might come next after the release of Pro Skater 3 + 4, Hawk remained tight-lipped: "We haven't even released this game yet!"

Tony Hawk's Underground first launched in 2003 and earned an impressive 9.2 from us back then, thanks to its "virtually flawless" level design and "stellar gameplay." It was the first entry in the series that let players hop off their boards and explore expansive levels on foot — a fresh twist that elevated the franchise.

Play*Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4* is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One on July 11, 2025. Activision is curating the official THPS 3 + 4 playlist on Spotify and continuously updating it as more tracks are revealed — check out the latest additions in our full soundtrack list here.

"In an era where nearly every early 2000s game seems to be getting a modern remake, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is shaping up to be a standout addition to a year filled with excellent remasters," we noted in our preview of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 first impressions.

"With its faithful recreation of what made the PS2-era classics unforgettable, paired with modern-day quality-of-life enhancements, a stellar soundtrack, and an overall homage to the series' golden age, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is definitely worth keeping on your radar if you're into skateboarding, action sports games, or just looking for something fun and straightforward. It might just be the easiest kickflip you land all year."
