There's no question about the excitement surrounding the new Final Destination movie currently in theaters. Final Destination: Bloodlines delivers the long-awaited sixth installment of the legendary franchise, and it wouldn't be complete without iconic actor Tony Todd. The late performer, beloved for his chilling portrayal of the original Candyman, delivers a moving monologue in the film — which producer Craig Perry revealed was completely improvised, calling Todd's final performance "profoundly bittersweet."

"We were all aware of his declining health," Perry shared with Deadline in a recent interview about the new film and his experience producing the franchise since 2000. "It was evident this would be his final film role, and the fact it was for Final Destination made it even more meaningful."

Perry explained that directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein took a bold approach when filming Todd's scene, opting to let him speak freely rather than sticking to the script.

"Our directors made a brilliant choice—they took the last few scripted lines and simply told Tony, 'Speak from your heart. What message do you want to leave for the fans?'" Perry recounted. "So every emotional beat in that scene is genuine—it's Tony speaking directly to the people who supported him throughout his career. That set was filled with magic, and it's a moment I'll never forget."
