Troy Baker Voices Detective Mouse in New Game

Authore: CamilaUpdate:Jun 16,2025

In an exciting debut trailer unveiled today at Summer Game Fest, fans got their first glimpse—and listen—of acclaimed voice actor Troy Baker in his newest and most unexpected role yet: a crime-solving mouse in MOUSE: P.I. for Hire.

In MOUSE, Baker lends his voice to Jack Pepper, a war-hero-turned-private investigator who just so happens to be a mouse. The game's narrative kicks off with a familiar noir trope—a mysterious dame walks into Jack’s office with a case that seems simple enough. But as Pepper digs deeper, what starts as a routine investigation spirals into a gripping tale of murder, corruption, and conspiracy across the city of Mouseburg.

Visually, MOUSE: P.I. for Hire stands out with its bold, 3D cartoon aesthetic reminiscent of classic 1930s animation. The game draws stylistic inspiration from vintage noir films and blends it seamlessly with a retro charm similar to Cuphead, creating a world that feels both nostalgic and fresh.

Troy Baker is no stranger to iconic gaming roles. With a resume that includes Joel in The Last of Us, Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite, Sam Drake in Uncharted 4, and Higgs Monaghan in Death Stranding and its sequel, Death Stranding 2, Baker continues to deliver memorable performances across the industry.

MOUSE: P.I. for Hire is set to launch later this year and will be available on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC. The game is being developed by Fumi Games, an emerging studio ready to make its mark with this unique and stylish title.
