1. Press the pre-determined button (usually 1) repeatedly until the first digit of the code appears on the screen.
2. Repeat this process for buttons 2, 3, and 4.
3. Confirm the code using the appropriate button (5, , or > depending on your radio model. For example, Ford 6000CD uses 5, Sony uses , and most VW, Audi, Skoda, and Seat models use >).

Dealing with SAFE/LOCKED/WAIT/ERROR Messages:

Most radios have a protection system to prevent brute-force code entry. After several incorrect attempts, the radio may block.

• Ford: "WAIT" requires leaving the radio powered on for 30 minutes. "LOCKED" or "LOCKED10" may require holding button 6 for ten seconds. "LOCKED13" indicates a semi-permanent block requiring dealer assistance.
• VW/Volkswagen: "SAFE" or "SAFE2" appears after three incorrect attempts. Leave the unit on for 60 minutes to re-enter the code.
