"Made in Abyss Universe Inspires First Mobile Game"

Avex Pictures has just unveiled an exciting new mobile game inspired by the captivating world of Made in Abyss. After immersing fans in the depths of the Abyss through manga, anime, and a 3D action RPG, the story is now set to reach mobile platforms for the first time with the game titled Made in Abyss: A Difficult and Mysterious Journey.

What’s the Scoop?

The announcement came alongside the launch of the game's official X account, which is expected to provide updates as we approach the release date. While details are scarce, it's confirmed that Made in Abyss: A Difficult and Mysterious Journey will be a casual mobile title, initially available on Android and iOS devices exclusively in Japan. There's no information yet on a potential global release.

Dived into the Abyss Yet?

Made in Abyss first captivated audiences in 2012 as a manga by Akihito Tsukushi, serialized on Web Comic Gamma. The story centers on Riko, a young orphan from the town of Orth, which borders a vast vertical chasm called the Abyss. This mysterious hole is filled with ancient technology, bizarre creatures, and an enigma that engulfs those who dare to explore it. Riko's dream is to follow in the footsteps of her mother, Lyza, a renowned White Whistle Cave Raider who vanished in the depths of the Abyss.

On her journey, Riko encounters Reg, a half-robot boy with no recollection of his past. Together, they embark on a perilous descent into the Abyss, fully aware that they might never return.

The manga's success led to an anime adaptation in 2017, followed by a sequel film, Dawn of the Deep Soul, released in Japan in 2020. In 2022, Chime Corporation further expanded the universe with a console and PC RPG, Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness.
