It's not just Gabe Newell who's known for responding to emails, but not all news is good for those who reach out. A Reddit user shared a reply they received from Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney after emailing him with a simple question: when would Alan Wake 2 by Remedy be released on Steam? Unfortunately for the gamer, Sweeney's response was short and to the point, stating that the release on Steam won't happen, with no further comments. This left the user with no choice but to resort to plan B: purchasing the game on Xbox.

Alan Wake 2 stands out from most Epic Games Store exclusives because Epic Games not only published the horror title but also co-financed its development alongside Remedy. Remedy has stated that the sales of Alan Wake 2 were in line with their business forecasts, and the studio was pleased with this collaboration. However, despite this, more than a year after its release, the game has yet to turn a profit. Looking forward, Remedy plans to self-publish future games, which means they will be available on platforms like Steam as well.
