Says It "Could Be Interesting"
Following Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's successful launch, developer Sandfall Interactive is considering a Switch 2 release. In a May 2 interview with French YouTuber mistermv, Game Director Guillaume Broche discussed the studio's evolving plans post-launch.
He revealed the game's success has "changed everything," noting the team is currently evaluating their options. Broche stated, "At this point, considering the game's success, it fundamentally changes our priorities."
When questioned about a Switch 2 release, Broche indicated the team is exploring numerous opportunities: "It's still too early to confirm, but we're currently evaluating multiple possibilities - more than we anticipated. A Switch 2 version is certainly among the interesting possibilities we're considering."
With Nintendo's next-generation console on the horizon, fans speculate whether this critically acclaimed Belle Époque-inspired RPG might join the Switch 2 lineup.
Official Merchandise Under Development
The overwhelming success has brought Sandfall Interactive various opportunities, including fan requests for official merchandise featuring popular character Esquie. The studio cautioned fans about counterfeit products currently being sold online.
In a May 14 social media announcement, the developer warned: "Please be aware: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed products."
The studio particularly warned against items using AI-generated artwork and potential scams. However, they confirmed plans to develop official Esquie merchandise: "We're actively working on creating high-quality official Esquie plushies and aim to release them as soon as possible."
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 continues to captivate players, with official merchandise now in development. The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.
