Crunchyroll Adds Shin chan: Shiro & Coal Town to Game Vault

Shin Chan: Shiro & the Coal Town is now available on Android through the Crunchyroll Game Vault. This charming slice-of-life adventure first launched in Japan for the Nintendo Switch back in February 2024. A worldwide release for Switch and PC followed in October 2024, and now the game has finally arrived on mobile.

Shin Chan: Shiro & Coal Town Is a Mysterious Anime Adventure

The story begins as the Nohara family moves to a quiet village in Akita Prefecture after Hiroshi finds work near his hometown. They settle into a traditional Japanese farmhouse, embracing the peaceful rhythm of rural life.

Early on, Shin Chan explores the wonders of the countryside with his grandfather, Ginnosuke. Your days here are filled with simple joys—fishing in Akita's rivers, catching bugs in the groves, and learning the basics of farming alongside your grandmother.

One day, the family dog, Shiro, suddenly appears covered in coal dust and dashes away. Shin Chan follows him, stumbling upon a mysterious train that wasn't there before. A single misstep lands him a ticket right into the strange world of Coal Town.

Coal Town feels like it’s been frozen since the Showa era

In Coal Town, you'll encounter bustling workers and a distinctly retro atmosphere, alongside a fresh set of activities. It's a stark contrast to the calm countryside—complete with a children's park, a diner, various shops, restaurants, and an apartment complex. Some places are interactive, while others serve as atmospheric backdrop.

This is also where you'll meet Yuri, a young inventor who enlists your help in gathering materials for her experiments. She's working on inventions to improve life for the town's residents. However, her older brother Chuck arrives with his own plans. He attempts to create a "waste-free" system that instead disrupts everyone's daily lives. Your task becomes helping Yuri stop Chuck and restore harmony to Coal Town.
