Netflix has teased us with a trailer that packs the signature Love, Death + Robots punch of stunning visuals and intriguing concepts. Here's a glimpse of what we caught in the brief, yet enthralling footage:
- An epic space battle or cosmic catastrophe
- A rock band made of puppets
- The aforementioned adult toy, brought to life with giant eyes in claymation
- A priest strolling alongside an alien with tentacles on a beach
- A tormented woman, possibly bionic, accompanied by a charming fuzzball
- Menacingly large babies
- Dinosaurs clashing with their own kind
- An alien invasion depicted through miniature models
- A cat, seemingly disgusted and voyeuristic
The series boasts executive producers like Tim Miller, known for directing Deadpool, and David Fincher, celebrated for his work on Seven and The Social Network. Jennifer Yuh Nelson, who contributed to Kung Fu Panda 2 and Shrek Forever After, returns as the supervising director.
"If the legacy of Love, Death + Robots is that there are a handful, fifteen people, ten years from now who became directors or became animators or became motion capture performers or doing voice work because they were such big Love, Death + Robots fans, that's all I care about right now," Fincher shared with Collider in a 2022 interview.
"This show was never going to pay for your Gulf Stream. You're either here because you want to be here or you're not here. We're hoping desperately to get to waste more of our lives toiling in obscurity."
