The transition of Charlie Cox's Daredevil from Netflix to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has sparked speculation about potential comebacks for other members of The Defenders. Finn Jones, who portrayed Iron Fist, recently expressed his eagerness to return to the role, stating at the LaConve anime convention in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, "I’m here and I’m ready." Jones last donned the mantle of Danny Rand in the second season of the Netflix series Iron Fist and in The Defenders, where he teamed up with Daredevil/Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter).
Despite the lukewarm reception to Jones’ portrayal of Iron Fist, the successful integration of Daredevil into the MCU has reignited hope for a revival of The Defenders. Reports suggest that Marvel is "exploring" the possibility of bringing back the team. At the convention, Jones acknowledged the criticism he received but remained optimistic, saying, "There is a willingness for the fans to see that happen. There’s a lot of willingness for the fans to see that not happen as well. I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is like, give me a f***ing chance, man. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen."
Daredevil: Born Again continues the narrative from the Netflix series, which had created a smaller-scale Marvel universe featuring shows like Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. These series, along with The Defenders, are now officially part of the MCU canon and can be found on Disney+. Additionally, Jon Bernthal's Punisher, another character from the Netflix universe, is set to appear in Daredevil: Born Again.
