Authore: CharlotteUpdate:May 05,2025

In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, Sharp Fangs are essential crafting resources that you can start collecting early in the game. These valuable items are crucial for forging beginner-tier gear sets like Chatacabra and Talioth armor. If you're on the hunt for Sharp Fangs, here's a comprehensive guide to help you find and farm them efficiently.

How to Get Sharp Fang in Monster Hunter Wilds

Screenshot by The EscapistSharp Fangs can be found in the Windward Plains, which you'll explore at the beginning of the story. To start your search, embark on one of the first available optional quests such as "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding." These quests will lead you to the Windward Plains and provide a generous 50-minute time limit. Before setting out, consider cooking and eating a meal to boost your performance.

Once in the Windward Plains, head east to Area 8, the largest area on the map, where you'll encounter various smaller monsters. While several of these monsters can drop Sharp Fangs, focusing on the Gaijos will yield the best results.

Gaijos

Gaijos marked on a map in Monster Hunter WildsGaijos are small leviathan monsters resembling crocodiles with unique snouts. They are typically found near or in riverbeds, often alone. Use the interactive map to locate them by scanning for purple diamonds near water sources.

Approach a Gaijos location and use your equipped weapon to quickly defeat them, as they have relatively low health. After defeating a Gaijos, carve its carcass to obtain 1 x Sharp Fang. Gaijos are guaranteed to drop Sharp Fangs, making them a priority target. You can find around four to five Gaijos in the Windward Plains upon entering the region, and you can re-enter via any of the Windward Plains optional quests to farm more Sharp Fangs as needed.

Talioth

These bipedal creatures roam in small packs in Area 8 and occasionally in Area 13. While they are slightly tougher than Gaijos, they can still be taken down with starter weapons.

Carving Talioth carcasses may yield other items like Talioth Scales, but there's also a chance to obtain Sharp Fangs. Additionally, you can complete the "The Desert is Demanding" optional quest, which requires you to kill 8 x Talioths, while farming for Sharp Fangs.
