How to Start Battle of Frogs and Mice in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
To initiate the Battle of the Frogs and Mice side quest, you must first complete either the Mice or Frogs quests for Prochek and Olbram. After completing one of these quests, speak to Prochek in Tachov or Olbram in Zhelejov to start the new quest. Then, proceed to the pasture to begin.
Should You Side With Prochek or Olbram?
During the quest, Henry must choose between supporting Prochek or Olbram. To side with Prochek, meet him in Tachov and say, "Let’s get those Zhelejovites!" To side with Olbram, meet him in Zhelejov and say, "Let’s go and see those Tachovites!"
While at the pasture, avoid trying to reconcile them directly during the negotiations, as this could provoke an early fight. Instead, if you can pass the dialogue check, you might cause one of the opposing side's members to leave, making the subsequent fight easier. Winning the fight for either side will grant you groschen.
How to Stop the Feud
For a more amicable resolution, before heading to the pasture, ask Prochek or Olbram if they want to end the feud. Then, travel to Troskowitz to meet with Bailiff Thrush. In your conversation with him, select the dialogue option, "You’d finally have some peace."
Passing a dialogue check here allows you to access the Troskowitz Chronicle in the scribe’s room. If you fail to persuade Bailiff Thrush, you can sneak into the room, but remember to save your game beforehand.
Once in the scribe’s room, engage with the scribe and choose the dialogue option, "Fecit, ordinem in regione ope clavi ferrei."
Next, go to the pasture and locate three oak trees lined up together. Examine the middle tree to find a nail. You have three options for the nail:
- Leaving it in the middle tree will equally divide the pasture between Tachov and Zhelejov.
- Placing it in the west tree will allocate more land to Tachov.
- Placing it in the east tree will allocate more land to Zhelejov.
Your choice here does not significantly impact the outcome, so select based on your preference or stay neutral. After deciding, return to Bailiff Thrush and inform him of your decision. He will agree to end the feud. Then, bring Prochek or Olbram to the pasture to finalize the resolution.
