Word game enthusiasts, get ready for a thrilling new experience with Letterlike, a unique roguelike word game that combines the strategic gameplay of Balatro with the classic word-building fun of Scrabble. It's an innovative blend of vocabulary challenges and the unpredictable nature of roguelike games, creating a fresh and exciting gaming experience.
How to Play Letterlike
Letterlike offers a dynamic roguelike experience, where each run features a new set of letters and challenges, all generated procedurally. This ensures endless possibilities and triumphs with every playthrough.
Starting with a random set of letters, your objective is to form meaningful words, accumulate points, and progress through levels. Each level is split into three rounds, and to advance, you need to score sufficiently by crafting high-scoring words, similar to Scrabble. You have five chances, or lives, per round, so strategic word-building is crucial.
If you find yourself with less-than-ideal letters, don’t worry. You can discard some, though the number of discards is limited, so choose wisely. Additionally, the rearrange mode allows you to drag, drop, and shuffle letters to create the words you need.
In the final round of each level, a special twist occurs: certain letters become useless, scoring zero points. This adds an extra layer of strategy to your gameplay.
Points and rewards earned can be used to purchase items that enhance your runs. Some buffs are automatically applied, while others unlock at specific levels. Collecting gems also enables you to acquire powerful upgrades, making future runs smoother and more enjoyable.
Will You Try It?
Letterlike boasts a simple, minimalist design that's both fun and engaging. The game allows you to replay specific runs using shared seeds, perfect for challenging your friends. If you encounter a particularly tough letter combination, share it and let your buddies experience the challenge too!
The game is ad-free and available for a one-time purchase. It can be played offline, and a free demo version is available for those curious to try it out. If you're interested, head over to the Google Play Store and give the demo of Letterlike a spin.
