Nintendo Switch 2 enthusiasts have moved their focus from the console itself to the dimensions of its physical game cases, following what appears to be a leak from a retailer. As reported by Nintendo Life, journalist Felipe Lima noticed a listing for a Take-Two Interactive game on the French retailer Fnac, which included the dimensions of the game case. If these dimensions are accurate, the game boxes for the Nintendo Switch 2 will be slightly larger than those for the original Switch.
A Reddit user, HertzBurst, further illustrated this by posting a mock-up showing the two game boxes side by side. According to the retailer's listing, the new cases will measure approximately 5.1 inches by 7.7 inches (13 cm by 19.5 cm). While these cases are larger than the current Switch game cases, they remain significantly smaller than those used for Xbox Series X and S and PlayStation 5 games. Although these dimensions are not yet officially confirmed, it's logical that retailers would receive such information early to prepare their stock displays.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is rumored to be nearing its release, with speculation pointing towards a launch window between June and September. This speculation is fueled by hands-on events scheduled through June and comments from Nacon, the publisher of Greedfall 2, indicating that the console will be available before September.
The console was officially unveiled earlier in January with a brief trailer that highlighted its backwards compatibility and the inclusion of a second USB-C port. However, many details, such as the full game lineup and the function of the new Joy-Con button, remain undisclosed. Theories about the new Joy-Con, including its potential use as a mouse, have begun to circulate among fans.
