Unlocking Multiple Pets in Stardew Valley

Daily care is crucial: ensure your pet's bowl is full using your Watering Can (excluding rainy/snowy days). Also, pet your companion daily; a heart bubble signifies a successful interaction. Monitor their friendship level in the "Animals" tab of the pause menu.
Once the friendship meter is full, Marnie will send a letter informing you about adopting additional pets from her shop. If you didn't adopt a pet in your first year, the letter arrives at the start of Year 2.
