Stellar Blade's Festive Holiday Update: A Cozy Christmas in Xion
Get ready for a festive makeover in Stellar Blade! Shift Up is bringing the holiday cheer to Xion with a new event launching December 17th. This update includes new Christmas-themed outfits, decorations, a fun mini-game, and a new option to customize your seasonal content experience.
New Holiday Outfits and Accessories
Deck the halls (and Eve!) with brand-new festive attire. The update features:
- Santa Dress: For Eve, spreading holiday cheer in style.
- Rudolph Pack: A festive upgrade for your Drone companion.
- I'm No Santa: Adam's unique take on the holiday spirit.
Complete Eve's look with a new Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.
A Festive Xion and Mini-Game Fun
Xion itself transforms into a winter wonderland, adorned with warm lights and festive decorations. Eve's camp and The Last Gulp also receive the holiday treatment, complete with seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away"). The update also introduces a new mini-game – details are scarce, but it involves a holiday-themed drone and promises special rewards for skilled shots.
Control Your Seasonal Content
A welcome addition is the ability to control seasonal content, including the Nier:Automata DLC. In the Gameplay settings, you can now choose:
- Auto: Seasonal content toggles automatically.
- Disable: Keeps seasonal content off, regardless of the season.
- Enable: Keeps seasonal content on, regardless of the season.
Note: Changing this setting requires a game restart from your most recent save.
Mixed Reactions from Fans
The announcement was largely well-received, with many fans playfully referring to Eve as "Christmas Eve." However, some players expressed concern over the frequency of event updates in a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The need to restart the game to fully enjoy the seasonal content was also a point of contention.
