With the 25th anniversary of the iconic Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series fast approaching, skateboarding legend Tony Hawk has confirmed that Activision and he are planning a special commemoration. The details remain shrouded in secrecy, but the announcement was made during a recent appearance on YouTube's Mythical Kitchen. "I've been talking to Activision again, which is insanely exciting. We're working on something—This is the first time I've said that publicly," Hawk revealed. He assured fans that the project would be something they'd truly appreciate.

The original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater launched on September 29, 1999, sparking a hugely successful franchise with numerous sequels. While a remastered collection of THPS 1+2 was released in 2020, plans for remastered versions of THPS 3 and 4, initially under development by the now-defunct Vicarious Visions, were ultimately cancelled due to studio closure and Activision restructuring.

Speculation is rife that the anniversary celebration might involve a new game in the franchise, potentially announced during a rumored Sony State of Play event this month. The official THPS social media accounts have already begun celebrating the anniversary with new artwork and a giveaway of the THPS 1+2 Collector's Edition. However, until further details are released, whether this project is a new game or a continuation of the abandoned remaster remains unknown. The anticipation builds as fans eagerly await more information.
