The PMRC Rondo Cup 2025, a thrilling PUBG Mobile esports tournament, concluded this past weekend, crowning team Yangon Galacticos as the champions. Their victory secures them the lion's share of the impressive $20,000 prize pool, courtesy of PUBG.

The tournament was set on PUBG's latest and largest map to date, Rondo, which hosted 16 teams. These teams earned their spots through various qualifying tournaments, including D'Xavier at PMSL SEA Spring, Rangers at PMCL Spring, and R3GICIDE at PMSL CSA Fall.

Yangon Galacticos clinched the win under the newly introduced SMASH format rules. According to these rules, a team needed to accumulate 30+ points and secure a victory in a separate match to claim the title. However, since no team managed to meet these criteria after six matches, the championship went to Yangon Galacticos due to their commanding points lead.

Arondo the worldFollowing closely behind, HORAA Esports and Bigetron Esports secured the second and third positions, respectively. This outcome underscores the success of the Rondo Cup and reflects PUBG Mobile's growing ambitions in the esports arena since 2024.

Interestingly, the inaugural tournament to feature the SMASH rule didn't see a winner emerge through this format, sparking curiosity about its future in PUBG Mobile tournaments. Whether this rule will return depends on the organizers' assessment of its impact on encouraging skilled and engaging gameplay.
