Application Description

In the Netherlands, an innovative app has been developed to enhance the driving experience through the testing and acceptance of Intelligent Vehicle Roadside Interaction (iVRI) systems. This app provides drivers with continuous, location-specific in-car information, including details on static and dynamic speed limits, lane configurations, overtaking restrictions, traffic light signals, and predictions for the next signal phase. This real-time data empowers drivers to make informed decisions, improving both safety and traffic flow.

Moreover, the app features a unique function allowing users to request priority at suitable iVRIs. Users can assume the role of various vehicle types, such as an NHD (NoodHulpDienst or emergency service), bus, or truck, each of which may receive priority at traffic lights. This capability not only streamlines emergency responses but also optimizes public transportation schedules and freight logistics, contributing to a more efficient transportation network.
