Using the App and Scanner Together:

The app and FreeStyle Libre 2 scanner operate independently. Signals are sent to either your phone or the scanner, not both simultaneously. To receive alerts on your phone, initiate the sensor via the app. To use the scanner for alerts, initiate the sensor with the scanner. A sensor started with the scanner can still be scanned with your phone.

Important Note: The app and scanner don't communicate directly. For comprehensive data on either device, scan every 8 hours; otherwise, reports may be incomplete. LibreView.com provides a central hub for data from all your devices.
