Dive into the engaging world of Minnesota Whist, a no-trump partnership card game available on your smartphone or tablet, and enjoy it for free! Whether you're looking to unwind or sharpen your card-playing skills, Minnesota Whist is the perfect choice. It's a popular variant in Minnesota and South Dakota, designed to enhance your strategic thinking and teamwork in a fast-paced, fun environment. Compete against smart AI opponents and track your progress with detailed stats, making every session a chance to improve.
In Minnesota Whist, the objective shifts based on the bidding. If you're playing a high bid round, your goal is to capture seven or more of the thirteen tricks. Conversely, in a low bid round, you aim to win six or fewer tricks. This dynamic gameplay keeps every match exciting and challenging.
Team up with your AI partner to outsmart your opponents and be the first partnership to reach the win target, either 13 or seven. As you play, you'll grow your skills in trick-taking games, ready to take on harder difficulties when you're up for a challenge.
Customize your experience to suit your preferences:
- Select your preferred win target
- Opt for a "set bonus" to add another layer of strategy
- Choose between easy, medium, or hard difficulty
- Decide on normal or fast play
- Play in landscape or portrait mode
- Toggle single-click play on or off
- Sort your cards in ascending or descending order
- Replay hands from the play or the bid
- Review previous hands played throughout the round
Personalize your game further with customizable color themes and card decks to keep the visual experience fresh and exciting.
Quickfire Rules: After dealing the cards evenly among four players, each bids either high (black card) or low (red card). Bids are revealed starting left of the dealer. The first black card turned over signifies a 'high' round, where teams aim to win as many tricks as possible. If all bids are red, it's a 'low' round, aiming to win as few tricks as possible. In high bid rounds, the player to the right of the 'grander' leads first; in low bid rounds, it's the player to the dealer's left. Players must follow suit if possible, with the highest card of the led suit winning the trick. Scoring is based on the number of tricks won by each partnership, with points awarded accordingly based on the bid and 'set bonus' settings.
