ARK: Survival Ascended's Extended Content Roadmap Unveiled
Studio Wildcard has unveiled an ambitious content roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, extending its planned updates through late 2026. This Unreal Engine 5 remaster of the popular survival crafting game, initially released in early access in November 2023, will receive a steady stream of new content and features.
Key highlights from the roadmap include:
-
Unreal Engine 5.5 Upgrade (March 2025): This crucial update will significantly boost performance and pave the way for individual DLC map downloads, reducing the overall game size. Nvidia's frame generation support, previously removed, will also return.
-
New Maps and Creatures: The roadmap details the arrival of several new maps, including Ragnarok Ascended (April 2025, free), a premium map (June 2025), Valguero Ascended (August 2025, free), Genesis Ascended (Parts 1 & 2 in April and August 2026, free), and Fjordur Ascended (December 2026, free). Each map release will often include a community-voted free creature and a "Fantastic Tame." A Bison will be the first free creature added (April 2025).
-
Bob's True Tales: This previously announced content, part of the game's season pass, will be released in two parts alongside the Genesis Ascended expansions.
-
Ongoing Additions: Three additional Fantastic Tames are planned for release throughout 2026.
The roadmap offers a high-level overview of the planned content. While not exhaustive, it provides a clear indication of Studio Wildcard's commitment to expanding and enhancing ARK: Survival Ascended over the next two years. Further details on upcoming content, such as the unannounced premium map, are expected in the coming months.
