ZA/UM, the studio that created the award-winning Disco Elysium, has confirmed it is working on a new Android version of the game.
This mobile adaptation will shift the gameplay to a visual novel style. Players will experience the story through illustrated scenes, branching narratives, and full voice acting, moving away from the original's isometric exploration.
The developers state this approach is designed to "bring Disco Elysium to a wider audience while offering existing fans a compelling way to play on mobile." A key focus is reaching the TikTok community, as noted by ZA/UM's head, Tõnis Haavel:
"We aim to attract TikTok users with short videos featuring powerful storytelling, beautiful artwork, and immersive audio. This project is about reinventing entertainment, delivering a novel and profound narrative experience.
Story-rich games such as Disco Elysium belong on mobile. By staying true to the core of the original, we want to present this beloved game to newcomers and veterans alike. We hope everyone can fall in love with Disco Elysium all over again—right from their phone."
