Zynga's Custom Street Racer 2 (CSR2) is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Back to the Future with a time-traveling crossover event.
CSR2: A Back to the Future Experience
Players can now acquire and race the iconic DeLorean time machine from the original film. While lacking performance enhancements or special abilities, the DeLorean is fully functional within the game. Beyond the car, CSR2 offers a complete Back to the Future themed experience.
This includes a film-inspired user interface, a new storyline, and multiple in-game events. Three flash events focusing on the DeLorean are planned, alongside a community competition. Zynga promises additional themed events throughout the year, extending beyond a single update. Currently, CSR2 is running social media quizzes with prizes; details can be found on their official channels.

No Time Travel, But Plenty of Fun
While the game doesn't offer time travel to 1955 (or 1999!), the CSR2 Back to the Future collaboration is a unique and exciting addition. The ability to drive the DeLorean is a significant draw.
Zynga's VP of Games, Sam Cooper, emphasized the DeLorean's iconic status and the thrill of letting players virtually race this legendary vehicle as part of the movie's anniversary celebration.
