Originally released in 1999, System Shock 2 redefined the survival horror and RPG genres. This remaster promises to retain the game's unsettling atmosphere while enhancing it with modern graphics and improved technical performance.

Nightdive Studios, renowned for their work on the System Shock franchise (including the 2013 System Shock 2 remaster and the recent System Shock remake), initially planned a simultaneous release with the System Shock remake. However, development delays led to a revised launch schedule.

The 2023 System Shock remake was well-received, achieving a 78/100 Metacritic score, a 7.6/10 user rating, and a 91% positive rating on Steam. With the System Shock 2 remaster on the near horizon, fans can finally look forward to experiencing this iconic title in a new light.
