Japanese Mahjong is an engaging game that follows the traditional rules of the Japanese style. To play, you'll use a slider located beneath the screen to select tiles. Once you've made your choice, you can discard the tile by tapping the slider.
The objective of Mahjong is to complete your hand with four Melds and one Pair. A sample hand might look like this: [1, 2, 3][6, 6, 6][6, 7, 8][N, N, N][4, 4]. However, be aware that certain hands may not be valid if you use Chi, Pon, or Open Kan.
In Japanese Mahjong, it's crucial to have at least one valid hand. You can enhance your hand by paying 1,000 points to declare a Reach, but remember that you cannot declare a Reach if you've already used Chi, Pon, or Open Kan. A closed hand, one that hasn't been declared, can yield higher points.
Understanding the concept of a Lost Hand is also key. A Lost Hand occurs when your hand is Waiting, but you cannot win because you've already discarded a winning tile. Even with a Lost Hand, you can still win by self-drawing. The trick is to never allow the other player to win with a Ron (winning off another's discard) on a tile you've discarded. Always try to deduce the other players' hands from their discards to strategize your win.
