Few franchises in anime—or any medium—have demonstrated the timeless appeal and longevity of Dragon Ball. Although the series' creator Akira Toriyama sadly passed away last year, the franchise continues to move forward. Bandai Namco recently announced that the MOBA-style fighting game Dragon Ball Project: Multi has been rebranded as Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra.

Gekishin Squadra features teams of iconic Dragon Ball characters clashing in classic MOBA-style battles. While the gameplay may differ from what longtime Dragon Ball fans are accustomed to, the roster is filled with familiar faces and beloved characters from the series.

A network test recently concluded, providing a closer look at what Gekishin Squadra offers under its new name. Among the highlights is the new Finders Keepers mode, where one team searches for hidden treasure chests while the opposing team works to defend them.

The recently concluded network test also introduced several new characters. Unsurprisingly, series staples Super Saiyan Goku and Vegeta were featured prominently. Longtime fans will also be excited to see returning favorites like Super Uub, Dabura, and Full Power Bojack joining the roster.

Gekishin Squadra has undergone multiple testing phases, and a full mobile release is anticipated later this year. While some fans may prefer more traditional fighting games like Dragon Ball FighterZ, there is considerable interest in discovering what Gekishin Squadra brings to the Dragon Ball universe.
