Godzilla LEGO Set Unveiled

Authore: LaylaUpdate:Nov 17,2025

The results of LEGO Ideas' third 2024 review are in, with two fan creations officially greenlit for production: an impressive Godzilla model and a Tintin-inspired rocket ship.

Announced via LEGO's official blog, these selections include a Godzilla set originally pitched by designer MattE720 last December. While final specifications like price, piece count, and release timing remain undetermined, this marks the first-ever LEGO recreation of the legendary kaiju.

First-Ever LEGO Godzilla Set Coming Soon

LEGO Godzilla fan submission

This groundbreaking set will bring Godzilla to brick form for the very first time. Though the final product may differ from the submitted design, the fan creation serves as its foundation. Designer MattE720 drew inspiration from recent cinematic appearances in films like Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

While no official piece count exists yet, the model appears substantial. Given LEGO's history with large-scale dinosaur builds (like their 3.5-foot T-Rex set) and the Ideas line's typical adult orientation, this could become a massive display piece for collectors.

How LEGO Ideas Concepts Become Reality

The LEGO Ideas process begins with fan submissions, which must gather 10,000 supporters to enter official review. This comprehensive evaluation considers multiple factors, with IP licensing being particularly crucial for franchise-based concepts. While original creations like the Tuxedo Cat face simpler copyright considerations, licensed properties require successful negotiations between LEGO and rights holders.

Several other noteworthy submissions currently await review decisions, including potential sets featuring Boo's door from Monsters, Inc., the Planet Express headquarters from Futurama, and even Microsoft Office's nostalgic Clippy assistant.
