In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, missing certain side tasks can result in permanently failing them, and Rosa's Book is one such task. To ensure you don’t miss out, it's crucial to know exactly where to find Rosa's book and how to complete this side quest.
Unlocking the Rosa’s Book Side Quest
To initiate the Rosa's Book side quest, you first need to complete the quest "Via Argentum" and begin "Taking French Leave." After helping the Ruthard family deal with Vavak, either by force or persuasion, you'll be directed to speak with Rosa. She will share information about a secret passage into Maleshov that you can use to rescue Hans. During this conversation, Rosa will ask you to retrieve a book for her while you're in Maleshov. Make sure to ask her which book it is and promise to bring it back to her to officially start the "Rosa’s Book" quest.

You must complete this quest during "Taking French Leave." If you leave Maleshov with Hans without finding the book, the quest will fail, and you'll miss the opportunity to romance Rosa. Fortunately, the book is located on your path to Hans' room, making it easier to find.
Upon entering Maleshov, head to the largest tower where Hans is located at the top. Use the stairs on the side of the building to enter the tower. Once inside, you'll find another set of stairs and a small kitchen nearby. Hide in the kitchen until the guards upstairs leave.

Sneak up the stairs to find a room with Lady Ofka sitting inside, facing the fireplace. Quietly approach her from behind and knock her out. Take the keys from her body, the keys from the podium in her room, and the sword from the chest. In this room, you'll also find Rosa's book. Look to the right of the fireplace, where you'll see a red book in the window alcove. Pick it up, and your objective will update to return the book to Rosa.

While you're in the area, enter the next room and take another sword from the chest there. This will save you time when you meet Hans, as you'll need two weapons for him and his surprise guest. After collecting everything, head to the top level and unlock the door on the left to trigger a cutscene.
Following the cutscene, continue with "Taking French Leave." Although Hans may not want to use the passageway, you can progress towards romancing him by choosing the dialogue option with a heart symbol, provided you chose the same in Trosky. Sneak to the stables on the north side of Maleshov, knocking out and hiding guards as needed. After clearing a path, signal Hans and ensure he reaches the stables safely.
Open the gate to trigger another cutscene, which will conclude the quest. Afterward, return to Kuttenberg City and visit Ruthard Palace to deliver Rosa's book, completing the side quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
