The Sony Bravia XR X93L was launched in March 2023, positioning itself as the second highest-end non-OLED TV in Sony's lineup at the time, just below the X95L (which was only available in an 85" size in the U.S.). The X93L features Mini LED technology, which is particularly effective for HDR content. Mini LED panels use a dense array of smaller LEDs, allowing for precise control of brightness and enhancing black levels and contrast ratios.
Gamers will find the X93L to be a stellar choice. It comes equipped with four HDMI ports, two of which support HDMI 2.1 specifications. This enables 4K resolution at a 120Hz refresh rate, ideal for the latest consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. While the upcoming Switch 2 will be limited to 60fps in 4K when docked, HDMI 2.1 isn't necessary for that system.
