As HBO bids farewell to one of its acclaimed series, The White Lotus, it welcomes back the gripping adaptation of the video game, The Last of Us, for its highly anticipated second season. Two years after its debut on Max, the show featuring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey returns, ready to delve deeper into the harrowing world established in the first season and the original game. The cliffhanger endings of both the game and the show have left fans, especially those familiar with The Last of Us Part 2, buzzing with a mix of excitement and dread about what's to come. IGN's Simon Cardy noted in his review of Season 2 that adapting the sequel's complex narrative into a television format was always going to be challenging, which explains the decision to span the story across a third season.

"The Last of Us Part 2 is a masterpiece worthy of its predecessor. Taking strides forward in nearly every way, Ellie steps into the spotlight and carries the sequel in a manner that feels like the culmination of everything that’s made Naughty Dog’s blockbuster storytelling so memorable since the original Uncharted on the PlayStation 3."
