HoYoverse has unveiled an exciting new update for *Tears of Themis* titled the Ballad of the Dunes, marking a unique collaboration with Gansu Province's Culture & Tourism. This event beautifully merges the allure of detective work with the vibrant cultural heritage of Dunhuang, a historic city nestled on the edge of the Gobi Desert.
What Does Ballad of the Dunes Bring to Tears of Themis?
The Ballad of the Dunes event is a captivating blend of history, romance, and mystery, set against the backdrop of the ancient Silk Road. Players will immerse themselves in solving mysteries while exploring the rich cultural tapestry of Dunhuang. Here's what the update brings to *Tears of Themis*:
The event introduces four new MR cards, each featuring one of the main characters—Luke, Artem, Vyn, and Marius—styled to reflect different aspects of Dunhuang's culture. You'll encounter elements like flying apsaras, detailed murals, and the iconic pipa played behind the back, reminiscent of ancient performers from the Mogao Caves. The Silk Road, a historical conduit of art, culture, and trade since the Western Han Dynasty (202 BC–8 AD), is digitally reimagined in this event.
Each card narrates a unique story: Luke's "In the Footsteps of Silk," Artem's "Serenade of the Soul," Vyn's "Reverberation Through Time," and Marius's "Void of Creation." These cards also come with Private Messages that delve into a journey spanning a thousand years.

What Are the Rewards?
From February 13th to February 20th, 2025, players can earn Camel Bells, S-Chips, and various other rewards by completing event tasks. The main challenge involves flipping cells on a game board to reveal rewards. The ultimate prize is a pack of Ballad of the Dunes MR cards, allowing you to choose one of the four MR cards as your final reward in each round. Flip 100 cells, and you'll unlock the exclusive Celebration – Dunes Namecard.
