The wait for Days Gone Remastered is almost over, and Sony's Bend Studio has just shared some exciting details about the accessibility features coming to the enhanced version of the game. One of the standout features is the ability to adjust the Game Speed, allowing players to slow down the action when things get intense. This can be particularly useful during those high-pressure moments when you're facing off against hordes of Freakers.
In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, delved into the new accessibility options. The Game Speed feature allows players to adjust the speed of gameplay from 100% down to 75%, 50%, and even 25%. According to McAllister, this feature is designed to help players who might feel overwhelmed or struggle with inputs during intense combat scenarios, particularly when dealing with the game's iconic Freaker hordes. With the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, this feature ensures that more players can enjoy this unique combat experience.
Beyond Game Speed, Days Gone Remastered will also offer a range of other accessibility enhancements. These include customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. Additionally, the auto-complete QTE (Quick Time Event) option, which was previously limited to the Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.
While these accessibility features are set to debut in Days Gone Remastered, Bend Studio has confirmed that most of them will also be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone. Some features, such as feedback and control customization options, will require a compatible controller to fully utilize.
Days Gone Remastered was officially announced in February, promising not only improved accessibility but also new gameplay modes like permadeath and speedrun options, alongside an enhanced photo mode. This remaster of the 2019 post-apocalyptic action-adventure game centered around a biker's journey is slated for release on April 25, 2025. For those who already own the PS4 version, an upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition will be available for just $10.
