Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5 star Ned Luke offers fans reassurance regarding the highly anticipated GTA 6, predicting its phenomenal sales figures. This article explores the anticipation surrounding GTA 6 and its development.
Rockstar Games' Unconventional Approach to GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Predicts $1.3 Billion Day-One Revenue for GTA 6
Ned Luke, the voice actor behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5, boldly predicts GTA 6 will generate a staggering $1.3 billion in its first 24 hours. In a recent interview with Fall Damage on YouTube, Luke shared his excitement, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of Rockstar Games' creations and the game's potential for greatness.
Luke urged patience, assuring fans, "It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." He highlighted GTA 5's impressive $800 million opening-day performance in 2013, suggesting GTA 6 will significantly surpass that achievement. Market research firm DFC Intelligence projects over 40 million copies sold and $3.2 billion in first-year revenue, with $1 billion attributed to pre-orders alone.
The Return of GTA 5 Characters in GTA 6?
Luke also offered insights into the possibility of GTA 5 characters appearing in GTA Online and potentially GTA 6. He noted Michael's absence from GTA Online since its launch, unlike Trevor and Franklin.
Luke hinted at Michael's potential appearance in a rumored final GTA Online DLC or even GTA 6 itself. While Steven Ogg (Trevor in GTA 5) previously suggested Trevor's death as a narrative device, Luke remained coy: "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything." Despite the actors' enthusiasm, no official confirmation exists regarding their characters' roles in GTA 6.
GTA 6: In the Testing Phase?
Former Rockstar Games animator Mike York suggests GTA 6 is currently undergoing internal testing. In a since-deleted interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz (via GamesRadar), York highlighted the game's unique unpredictability and the extensive testing required for such an ambitious open-world title.
York believes GTA 6 is in its internal testing phase, receiving final touches and additional content. He indicated the game is likely playable and that numerous internal testers have likely completed playthroughs.
Rockstar Games unveiled GTA 6 with a trailer in December 2023, but has remained tight-lipped since. While a Fall 2025 release was previously speculated based on Take-Two Interactive's financial reports, no official release date has been confirmed.
