Get ready, hunters! Way of the Hunter: Wild America is making its way to mobile devices, bringing all the wild, open-world hunting action that fans have enjoyed on PC since its launch by Nine Rocks Games in August 2022. If you're familiar with the PC version, you know what to expect: an immersive hunting experience.
Will You Get Everything in Way of the Hunter Mobile?
While transitioning to mobile, Way of the Hunter: Wild America might feature some graphical adjustments due to the limitations of mobile hardware. However, rest assured, the core gameplay, including the much-anticipated DLC, will be part of the mobile experience. Currently, the game is in its beta phase, with THQ Nordic and HandyGames gearing up for a full release soon.
HandyGames has announced a closed beta test via a tweet, inviting interested players to participate. If you're eager to get in on the action early, you can fill out a form available on their official X account.
Is It the Best Hunting Sim?
For those who appreciate a realistic hunting simulation, Way of the Hunter stands out. It challenges your patience and strategic skills, allowing you to track animals that exhibit genuine wildlife behavior. The game spans expansive open-world environments, inspired by the USA and Europe, covering a vast 55-square-mile area ripe for exploration.
With an array of authentic hunting weapons ranging from rifles to bows, the game lets you immerse yourself in the hunt. You can even analyze blood splatter and follow animal signs to ensure you bag your trophy. Check out the gameplay in the video below.
The game's ecosystem dynamically responds to your actions. Over-hunting in one area can drive wildlife away, adding a layer of realism and strategy to your hunting adventures.
Way of the Hunter also features an in-game economy, where you can sell meat to fund upgrades, purchase hunting passes, and collect taxidermy trophies for your lodge. The game offers both a campaign mode and a co-op mode, and on mobile, it will support full controller use.
