In the immersive world of Hyper Light Breaker, mastering the game's seven key resources is crucial for enhancing your gameplay, unlocking permanent upgrades, boosting survivability, and expanding your character roster. While the methods to acquire these resources might seem elusive at first, and their uses not immediately clear, this guide aims to demystify them, ensuring you have a comprehensive understanding of how to leverage each resource effectively.

These resources are conveniently stored under the items tab in your inventory menu, making it easy for you to keep track of your collection.

How to Get & Use Bright Blood in Hyper Light Breaker

Bright Blood is your bread and butter in Hyper Light Breaker, the most abundant resource you'll encounter. You can gather it by vanquishing enemies, smashing destructible objects, and cracking open crates scattered throughout the Overgrowth. Additionally, you can exchange unwanted gear for Bright Blood at vendors in the Hub.

Here's how you can put Bright Blood to good use:

  • Salvage Blades and Rails from fallen foes in the Overgrowth.
  • Unlock Stashes and other treasure troves in the Overgrowth.
  • Acquire new gear from vendors in both the Overgrowth and the Hub.
  • Enhance your existing gear at Hub vendors.

How to Get & Use Gold Ration in Hyper Light Breaker

Gold Rations become yours through completing Cycles. Initially, you might find yourself dying four times and exhausting all your Rezes. Once you've used up those four Rezes, head to the Telepad in the Hub, where you'll meet an NPC ready to exchange materials for a reset of the Overgrowth, nudging you closer to earning those precious Gold Rations.

Gold Rations are pivotal in the game's meta-progression system. They allow you to unlock permanent upgrades at Pherus Bit in the Hub. Moreover, offering Gold Rations to Hub vendors can unlock new services, enhancing your overall experience.

How to Get & Use Abyss Stone in Hyper Light Breaker

To claim Abyss Stones, you'll need to triumph over Crowns, formidable bosses lurking behind gates in the Overgrowth. Remember, you must first collect Prism to challenge these bosses, with their locations marked by yellow diamonds on the map.

Abyss Stones, like Gold Rations, fuel your meta-progression. Use them to boost your Sycoms' stats and unlock new characters during loadout confirmation, just before diving back into the Overgrowth. This strategic use will give you a leg up in future adventures.

How to Get & Use Key in Hyper Light Breaker

Keys occasionally drop from small containers in the Overgrowth, though their locations aren't usually highlighted on the map, adding a layer of challenge to their acquisition.

Keys are your ticket to bypass barriers in the Overgrowth, granting access to Stashes and other lootable containers. They're also essential for entering Labs, hidden underground areas teeming with enemies and valuable items.

How to Get & Use MediGem in Hyper Light Breaker

MediGems are vital for survival, harvested from glowing flowers in the Overgrowth. Their importance stems from their conversion into Medkits, available at the Hub's Telepad or Shrines in the Overgrowth.

Before you can use MediGems, you need to increase your Medkit capacity to one. Visit Pherus Bit in the Hub and spend one Gold Ration to unlock the Medkit Capacity node, making your MediGems usable.

How to Get & Use Core in Hyper Light Breaker

Cores are another meta-progression resource, found in Stashes marked by chest icons on the map or by combining four Core Shards. These shards come from enemies that drop Prisms, indicated by yellow diamonds, or from unmarked objects like bone piles in the Overgrowth.

During loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth, use Cores to upgrade your Sycom, enhancing the stats of your Breakers for better performance in subsequent runs.

How to Get & Use Material in Hyper Light Breaker

Materials are primarily obtained by using Bright Blood to unlock small chests in the Overgrowth, often marked by gems on the map. You can also gather additional Materials by selling gear to vendors in the Hub.

Use Materials to buy gear from vendors in both the Hub and the Overgrowth. While similar to Bright Blood, Materials have more focused applications, making them essential yet limited in their versatility.
