"Oblivion Remastered Retains Iconic Line Flub"

Authore: PatrickUpdate:May 15,2025

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered breathes new life into one of Bethesda's most iconic titles, enhancing visuals, gameplay mechanics, and more. Yet, the developers at Virtuos have made sure to preserve one of the original game's most memorable moments: the infamous voice line from Master Speechcraft trainer Tandilwe.

Veteran fans of The Elder Scrolls series are well-acquainted with Tandilwe, a High Elf found in the Temple of the One within the Imperial City. When Oblivion first debuted on PC and Xbox 360 nearly two decades ago, Tandilwe's voice acting became a topic of discussion. Her line, believed to be a recording of actress Linda Kenyon attempting another take, has become a cherished flub among the community.

As players embarked on their journey through a revamped Cyrodiil upon the remaster's release, many sought to verify the authenticity of the remaster's faithfulness. While the game boasts updated environments, character models, and items, fans are delighted to discover that many of the original game's quirks remain, including Tandilwe's hilarious blooper, preserved without subtitles just as it was in the 2006 release.

In a 2019 interview with Jake 'The Voice' Parr on YouTube, Linda Kenyon addressed the famous blooper, humorously stating, "It wasn't my fault!"

As thousands of players dive into Oblivion Remastered, debates swirl about whether it's more of a remake than a remaster. However, many appreciate that Bethesda and Virtuos have kept much of the original's charm and quirks intact, a decision that seems to resonate well with both new and returning players.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered unexpectedly launched for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S. For those interested in exploring further, the modding community has rallied to release numerous mods shortly after the remaster's announcement.
