In the highly anticipated cooperative action game, *Elden Ring Nightreign*, fans of From Software's signature poisonous swamps will be disappointed to learn that these iconic areas will not be making an appearance. This revelation came directly from the project's product manager, Yasuhiro Kitao, during a recent discussion with journalists. Although a similar-looking location was showcased in the game's trailer, Kitao clarified that it represents an entirely different setting. The absence of these swamps is attributed to the lack of involvement from Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software, who is renowned for his affinity for such challenging environments. Miyazaki's influence has been pivotal in including swamp areas in both *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series, but he did not participate in the development of *Elden Ring Nightreign*.

On a brighter note, there's a glimmer of hope for fans of cooperative play. While *Elden Ring Nightreign* has been announced to feature both single-player and three-player modes, the developers are currently contemplating the addition of a two-player mode. Initially, this mode was left out due to challenges in content balancing. However, From Software is actively considering its inclusion, though no final decision has been made yet.
Mark your calendars, as *Elden Ring Nightreign* is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC as well as two generations of consoles. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
