Japanese Switch 2 Priced Lower Than Global Version

Authore: NoahUpdate:May 14,2025

The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 will feature different pricing strategies in Japan and worldwide, catering to diverse market needs. The console will be available in two distinct versions: a Japanese-language system, exclusively for the Japanese market, and a Multi-Language System, available globally.

Switch 2 Will Have 2 Language System Versions

In Japan, the Nintendo Switch 2's Japanese-language version will be priced at approximately $330. In contrast, the Multi-Language System version, which will be available worldwide, is set at $449.99. This significant price difference, over $100, is largely due to the current exchange rate dynamics, with the weak yen making Japanese products more affordable domestically but less attractive to international tourists seeking purchases in Japan.

Residents of Japan can opt for the Multi-Language System if they prefer, but the Japanese-language version will be exclusively available within Japan. This version is only accessible to Nintendo Accounts registered in Japan and supports solely Japanese language software available on the Japanese Nintendo eShop.

For gamers looking to enjoy the Switch 2 in languages other than Japanese, Nintendo recommends purchasing the Multi-Language System version. More details about this version will be unveiled on April 4.

Switch 2 Will Be Sold By Lottery At The My Nintendo Store
