Split Fiction Streamers Discover Secret Laser Hell Stage, Earn Studio Visit
Two gaming streamers have accomplished what seemed impossible - conquering Split Fiction's brutal "Laser Hell" challenge. Their reward? An exclusive trip to Hazelight Studios. Here's everything about this hidden challenge and what's next for the award-winning studio.
First Players to Complete the Brutal Challenge
Split Fiction continues surprising players a month after launch, with intrepid gamers discovering an ultra-difficult secret stage called "Laser Hell." Despite its punishing difficulty, Chinese streamers sharkOvO and E1uM4y conquered it and received an incredible prize directly from game director Josef Fares.
The streamers documented their achievement on BiliBili, revealing how they accessed the hidden stage via a precise switch sequence in the Isolation level's elevator. Success transported them to a treacherous laser-filled platform stage that even most developers reportedly couldn't complete.
Their reward came in the form of a congratulatory video from Fares, who invited them to Hazelight Studios in Sweden. The director later confirmed on Twitter/X: "Congrats... VERY impressive! I will keep my promise... We'll be in touch!"
Hazelight's Next Project Already in Development

During a recent podcast interview, Fares revealed Hazelight has begun work on their next project just a month after Split Fiction's launch. While keeping details secret, he shared: "We are very, very excited here... we started working on this a month ago-ish."
The director also clarified Hazelight's unique relationship with EA, stating: "EA is a supporter... They have zero thing to say about what we're doing next." He emphasized how EA respects their creative independence, making Hazelight one of the publisher's most successful studios.
Game Updates and Sales Milestones

Split Fiction recently received its first major update on March 17, addressing gameplay mechanics, online stability, and localization issues reported by players.

The game also achieved remarkable commercial success, selling over 2 million copies in its first week - outpacing Hazelight's previous hit It Takes Two in early sales performance.
Split Fiction is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay tuned for more updates on Hazelight's future projects!
