Remedy Unveils Latest Game Development Projects

According to Remedy's latest annual report, Control 2 has successfully passed the concept validation stage and has now moved into full production. This marks a significant milestone, solidifying the project's progress and commitment to bringing this highly anticipated sequel to life.

In addition to Control 2, two other exciting projects are currently in active development: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. Just a year ago, these titles were in the preparation phase, but they have now advanced to the next stage of development. Unfortunately, the project Kestrel, which was being developed in collaboration with Tencent, has been removed from Remedy's plans, having been canceled in May of the previous year.

All these projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight, which has proven its effectiveness in titles like Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy projects, ensuring a high-quality gaming experience.

In terms of budget, Control 2 is set with an estimated budget of 50 million euros. The game will be self-published by Remedy and is slated for release on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. FBC: Firebreak comes with a slightly more modest budget of 30 million euros. This title will be available on PlayStation and Xbox subscription services at launch, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The remakes of Max Payne 1+2 remain shrouded in mystery regarding their budget, but it's confirmed that they will be AAA-level games. Both development and marketing costs for these remakes are fully funded by Rockstar Games, ensuring a robust production pipeline.
